About dr. Vikas shinde

Dr. Vikas Vithal Shinde is working as Professor in Mechanical engineering Department and Director, Centre of excellence in Project Based Learning (PBL) at Vishwaniketan iMEET, Khalapur, Mumbai University. He is the first Indian Ph.D in PBL from Aalborg University, Denmark awarded by the UNESCO chair in PBL. He has trained more than 17500+ teachers through 350+ national and international workshops on PBL and various teaching-learning methods. His research areas include PBL Model designs, Human Centric Design and Hydrogen Energy. He is a passionate entrepreneur who owns a Private limited company.

He received prestigious “Erasmus Mundus Mobility for Life” scholarship from European Union in year 2010-2014. He works as Erasmus + project coordinator and has been nominated as a Steering committee member for project having international consortium of six countries which includes Denmark, Spain and Bulgaria. He has been involved in four Erasmus+ projects and has successfully lead and executed them. He has written many successful projects to bring the grants above 2.5 crore. He has visited six international universities which mainly include Aalborg University, Denmark, Aalto University, Finland, and Coventry University, UK.

He has 22+ years of teaching and administrative experience. He is approved professor of SPPU, Pune and Mumbai University. He has successfully lead teams for NAAC and NBA, has consulted 22 institutes for NAAC preparations. He has published 07 text books, one international e-thesis, published many papers. He has acted as reviewer for many international Journals and international conferences. He has been instrumental to build an ecosystem to work with industries; created six centre of excellence, four industrial labs, brought many industries on campus and had been working with companies like TATA Steel, Selec Control, KSPG automotive etc.
